Deckmates: privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026 (anonymous play counters and tests). Deckmates is a game made by MOHBI. This page says what the game stores, why, and how to have it removed.
What the game sends to our server
- The player name you pick, or a random one if you play as a guest. Other players see it at the tables you join, on the weekly boards and on friends lists.
- A random sign-in token made for your phone. The server keeps only a scrambled copy (a hash), so it cannot be read back.
- Your weekly win counts for the boards: how many games you won and played each week, only for matches with two or more real people.
- Your 6-character friend code and your friends list: the players you add by their code. Friends can see whether you are online and whether your room has a free seat.
- What happens at a table while you play: the cards you play and the quick emotes you send, which the server needs to run the game and show it to the other players. It is held in memory only while the table is open and is not kept afterwards. There is no free-text chat.
- Your look (avatar, card back and table colour numbers) and level, which other players at your table see.
We use these only to run tables, boards and friends. We do not ask for your email, phone number, contacts or location. We do not sell any of it.
Anonymous play counters
To see how the game is played and fix what is not fun, the game sends counts to our server: for example that a match was played or won, that an ad was offered, or how many coins came from a daily task. Each count is added to a daily total on the server, and we do not keep the individual messages. When we try a change on some players and not others (for example, a different way of counting streaks), the counts also say which group your phone is in. They are tied to a random number made on your phone (not your player name, token, account or advertising ID) only so we can tell how many different phones played on which days. We do not send your name, email, location or contacts in them. Where Google's consent form applies (the UK, EU and Switzerland), the game does not send these counts at all for now. You can stop them by deleting the game's data or uninstalling the game; deleting your account does not remove the daily totals because they cannot be traced to you.
Google Play Games and Game Center (optional)
You can play as a guest without ever signing in. If your phone is signed in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iPhone), the game links your account to it when it opens, so you get your account and progress back on a new phone. You can also sign in from Settings. When you do:
- Google or Apple confirms who you are to the game with a signed proof. Our server checks it with Google or Apple and keeps only the player ID Google Play Games or Game Center gives us for this game (a string of letters and numbers). We do not keep your gamer name, email address or photo.
- Your game progress is saved on our server while you are signed in: coins, level, the looks you own, tasks, trophies and similar game data. Your sound and vibration settings stay on your phone.
- Each phone you sign in on gets its own random sign-in token. As above, we keep only a scrambled copy.
Google's and Apple's own privacy policies cover Google Play Games and Game Center: Google, Apple.
What stays on your phone
Your settings are saved on your phone only. If you play as a guest, your coins, looks, tasks and daily reward progress are also saved on your phone only. If you sign in, a copy of that progress is also kept on our server, as described above.
Ads
The game can show optional ads that you choose to watch for a reward. They come from Google AdMob. Google may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and similar data to show and measure ads. In the UK and EU the game asks for your consent first, using Google's consent form. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Server logs
Our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and time of request) to keep the service running and secure.
How long we keep it
We keep your name, weekly win counts, friends, and (if you signed in) your linked Google Play Games or Game Center player ID and saved progress while your account is in use. Weekly boards are by week and older ones may be removed.
Deleting your data
In the game, open Settings and tap Delete account twice. Your player name, win counts, friends, linked Google Play Games or Game Center player ID, saved progress and the sign-in tokens of every phone on that account are removed from our server straight away. If you can no longer open the game, email [email protected] with your player name, and we delete it within 30 days.
Children
Deckmates is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
